Anthony Johnson (AJ), Founder
Anthony Johnson (AJ) was born in Chicago IL in 1959. He was the Point Guard for the University of Wyoming Men’s Basketball team from 1979-83, and graduated from UW with a degree in Administration of Justice. He married in 1982 and had twin boys in 1983 then adopted our daughter in 1997 with a divorce in 2012. Jesus became his Lord and Savior in 1992. Anthony was a University of Wyoming police officer for 27 years, raising to the rank of Police Sergeant. In 2010, he founded Point Guard Ministries and since then has been the UW Men’s Basketball Team Chaplin. Anthony accepted God’s call to pursue full time ministry in 2018.
Dr. Ronald Marrs
Dr. Ronald Marrs is a Christian teacher and scientist. He is professor emeritus of the Department of Geology and Geophysics, University of Wyoming. After retiring from UW in 2006, Dr. Marrs has served as President of Innovation Exploration Ventures, LLC and is CEO of Celestial Vista Inc. Both are Wyoming companies offering expertise in multispectral remote sensing, geologic mapping and mineral exploration. His chief interests at present are Bible teaching and encouragement of Christian evangelism and various community service organizations. He also enjoys outings and sports events with family. Dr. Marrs has been a member of the Board of Directors for Point Guard Ministries since it was first organized.
Larry Knopp
Larry Knopp retired in 2017 after working for 21 years at UniWyo Federal Credit Union in Laramie, 18 of those years as President/CEO. He became friends with AJ in 1999 and they have remained friends since then. They enjoy participating in a bible study together almost every week. Larry and his wife Roxi continue to live in Laramie. They have one son, Casey, who lives and works in Montrose, Colorado with his wife Brooke.
